Grace means receiving something that you didn’t earn and couldn’t possibly pay back. The Bible teaches that we are saved by God’s grace, not by our own works. Jesus Christ died on the cross so that God could show grace to believers without compromising His perfect justice. The good news of God’s grace is the very heart of true Christianity.
The church is a collection of people from all walks of life: a cross-section of the community, gathered together to thank God for His grace. It is our hope and prayer that our church can play a part in introducing more members of the Wangaratta community to our wonderful God. After all, the good news of the Bible is for everyone!
The church is not simply a building where religious things happen. The church is the name given to believers when they gather together to worship God, either directly or indirectly. In one sense the church is like a family: we share a common Heavenly Father, we spend regular time together, we have a common goal and direction (based on the Bible), and we do our best to show love to one another.
